Introduction
This section of the end user guide will explain how Time-line view provides a longitudinal view of events associated with a patient. The Time-line view provided by the Tolven applications provides the user with the ability to view activities associated with a patient in a longitudinal time format. The Time-line can be configured by the individual user to display different collections of data in horizontal bands, and to select the level of granularity of the display (e.g., day, week, month or year).
Horizontal Band is the term used to describe a single row of data displayed in the Time-line. The Time-line can be configured to display a number of horizontal bands (e.g., Plans, Procedures, Personal Events, Medications, etc.).
Accessing the Time-line
The Time-line is accessed from the function option “Time-line,” which is displayed when reviewing a patient’s “Overview.” Select the “Time-line” function option and the Time-line will be automatically displayed.
Time-line Navigation
The Time-line can be navigated by using the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen or by clicking on the Timeline and dragging it left or right when the cursor changes into a hand.
Time-line Configuration
The Time-line can be configured to display different horizontal bands and time intervals. The preferences for the Timeline can be accessed by clicking on the settings link at the top of the Time-line.
The settings associated with the Time-line include the ability to make horizontal bars visible or invisible, and to define the time interval for the display.
Viewing and Editing Events
All events displayed in the Time-line can be highlighted, and a drill-down “bubble” will display more details about the entry.
State Transitions
When viewing the details of an entry on the Time-line, if it is possible to perform an action on the event (e.g., cancel, mark as entered in error, activate or deactivate, etc.,) the appropriate buttons will appear in the “Bubble.”
Clicking on the appropriate action button in the “Bubble” will launch the appropriate wizard to enable the state transition to be performed.
Adding New Events from the Time-line
New events can be added to the Time-line directly where the “New” link is displayed. Clicking on the “New” link will launch the appropriate wizard to add a new entry.
