Generate TRIM

This article covers the process of creating a Tolven Templated Reference Information Model (TRIM) representation from semantic contents such as SNOMED.

While a TRIM may be created manually, the majority of TRIMs can be generated automatically as the result of a semantic query. In practice, many TRIMs contain common information that can be defined once and then reused by other trims. For example, a TRIM involving a patient will include a patient [Participation]. This aspect of the act can then be generalized into a single abstract TRIM that can be blended into any concrete TRIM that involves a patient. Both kinds of TRIMs can be generated by this process although in many cases, the details of abstract TRIMs are not sufficiently covered by standard vocabularies. In those cases, the TRIMs are created manually.
